These terms cover two separate things: using this website, and having us repair an appliance.

Using this website

Everything on this site is published in good faith and is accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of writing. Repair guides describe general procedures for common appliances; your specific unit, its age, its installation and its condition may all differ. Following a guide is your decision and your responsibility.

Any procedure involving refrigerant, gas, or mains electrical work should be carried out by a qualified technician. Opening a sealed refrigeration system without EPA Section 608 certification is a violation of federal law, not merely unwise.

Trademarks and brand names

Sub-Zero, Wolf, Cove, Viking, Thermador, Miele, Gaggenau and every other manufacturer name on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners. We use them only to identify the appliances we service, which is lawful nominative use. We are an independent company and hold no manufacturer certification or authorization. See our about page for the full statement.

Repair work

Diagnosis and estimates

A flat $129 fee covers the visit and the diagnosis. It is credited toward the repair if you approve the work. You receive a written estimate covering parts and labor before any repair begins. No work proceeds without your approval.

What our warranty covers

We warrant our labor for 90 days and the parts we install for 365 days from the date of the repair. If the same fault recurs within the labor warranty period, we return at no additional diagnostic charge. Full terms are on the warranty page.

The warranty does not cover:

  • A different fault on a different component
  • Damage caused after the repair by power surge, flood, impact or misuse
  • Consumables including water filters and air purification cartridges
  • Cosmetic wear on panels, handles and trim
  • Work performed on the same unit by another company after ours

Access and property

Repairs require safe access to the appliance and to any shut-off, breaker or water supply serving it. We protect floors and cabinetry as a matter of course, and we carry general liability insurance. Built-in units frequently must be drawn forward on their rails to reach the compressor or condenser, and we will explain that before doing it.

Pre-existing conditions — a damaged floor under a unit that has never been moved, cabinetry installed tighter than the manufacturer's specified clearances, or an installation that was never correct — are not created by the repair and are not covered by it. We will point them out and photograph them where relevant.

Parts

We install genuine OEM parts. Special-order parts may be non-returnable once ordered against your serial number; we will tell you when that applies before ordering. Manufacturer parts availability is outside our control, though on Sub-Zero equipment it is generally excellent for well over a decade after a model ends production.

Payment and cancellation

Payment is due on completion. We accept Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. Please give us reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule so the slot can go to someone else.

Limitation

Our liability for any claim relating to a repair is limited to the amount you paid us for that repair. We are not liable for consequential losses — spoiled food, lost income or similar — arising from an appliance failure or from the time a repair takes. This does not limit any rights you have under Florida law that cannot be limited by agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
