An open built-in wine column, bottles on wooden shelves, a hand at the door seal - Accessibility

A good part of our customer base is over fifty and reading this on a phone in a bright kitchen. Accessibility here is not a compliance exercise — it is the same thing as the site working properly.

What we build to

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Specifically:

  • Contrast. Body text is checked against its background and clears AA, with the main text clearing AAA. Every colour pairing in the design system is measured, not eyeballed.
  • Text size. Body copy is set at 17px rather than the usual 16px, and the whole layout is built in relative units so browser zoom and OS text-size settings work properly.
  • Keyboard. Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring that changes colour on dark sections so it never disappears. There is a skip link to jump straight to the content.
  • Touch targets. Buttons are at least 48px tall, above the recommended minimum, and the sticky call bar on phones is larger still.
  • Motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, every transition and the smooth-scrolling behaviour switch off.
  • Structure. One H1 per page, headings in order, landmarks for navigation and content, and lists marked up as lists so a screen reader announces their length.
  • No JavaScript required. Every page renders and every link works with JavaScript disabled. The FAQ accordions use native HTML disclosure elements, so they are keyboard accessible by default and their contents can be found with browser find-in-page.

Known limitations

  • Our online booking system runs on separate software at a different domain. We do not control its accessibility. If you have difficulty with it, call us and we will book the appointment for you over the phone — that is not a lesser option, it is how most of our appointments are made.
  • Some repair guides include technical tables. These scroll horizontally on narrow screens rather than shrinking to an unreadable size.

Tell us when something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, call +1 (904) 977-8701 and say so. It is genuinely useful to hear about, and we will fix what we can. If you cannot access information you need, we will give it to you over the phone.

We can also take a service booking entirely by phone, including reading you our pricing and warranty terms, if that is easier than reading them here.
